Re: Is this truck rare
Yours is probably the ONLY one like it. There were a bunch of them at one time, but I'll bet there ain't another one "just like yours", now
Seriously, I find that there were 6,124 of the KS20934 body style, that is an 8-ft long, 127-inch wheelbase, 4WD built. The CST option was found on 10% of the total production, but may be a lot less than that for a truck like yours. So, in the big picture, I would say yours is a rare truck. Forgive my humor, please. I'm old.

Re: Is this truck rare
www.nada.com has a section that lets people look up vehicle values. For older vehicles, there's a lot of variables. Used to be a magazine called "Old Cars" that put out quarterly editions that were value guides. They had a rating system that started out with a 5 on the low end of the scale, up to a 1 on the high end. 5's were just about good for parts only. 1's were top-notch vehicles....like new. Most of what you describe would be a 4, on their grading scale. 4's ran, and were essentially complete, but needed some work to be average, like a 3 would be. 2's were very good, not the best, but generally just needed some cosmetics or minor mechanical attention to be a 1.

Re: Is this truck rare
Always remember that famous saying "Rare doesn't always mean desirable". Sounds like a nice truck with the CST package which is trim, and it had or has buckets...3/4 ton lwb trucks are not as desirable as 1/2 ton trucks. 4 speed for some is not as desirable as automatics. But it's a 4x4 which to many is a plus. The key is...if you like it then that is what is important. Like I said...it sounds like a nice truck.

Re: Is this truck rare
If it is in fact a 2 brl then I think it would be a non-stock carb because they were all 4brl.

Re: Is this truck rare
I BELIEVE there may have been some 2 bbl trucks built from factory. I know there is a 396 2 bbl truck on the boards, so it's possible. As for a price, without pics, I would say 1000-1200 range without seeing it. hope this helps

Re: Is this truck rare
Someone on the board has a quote for this type question.
"Rare does not always mean desirable. For instance it's rare that I crap my pants but not usually desirable."

Re: Is this truck rare
Yes,a CST K/20 is a rare truck. There weren`t many CST K/20 made. There were 2bbl carbs on 350s.Alot of guys are prefering the 4spd over an automatic in 4wds these days. It`s especially desirable being coupled with bucket seats. That makes you truck rare right there.I`ve seen loaded trucks and Suburbans with idiot lights.
It would be tiugh to put a value, but no less than $3,000 if it`s about solid.

Re: Is this truck rare
Values will fluctuate greatly depeinding on local markets.
While yes, that truck is fairly rare, it would be a little less desirable to most people. Either way, it sounds like a real neat rig. |

Re: Is this truck rare
When someone asks if something is rare, why do so many answer on the value and not the rarity? Not every "is it rare" question is to get a dollar value.Something can be rare and have nothing to do with money. What`s worth the most money is rare "and" popular. In some cases, the rarer things aren`t worth as much money because so few are aware of them so there`s no market.

Re: Is this truck rare
cst/20 4x4 I would consider "rare"(I don't like the word!) or hard to find, factory bucket seats I would also consider htf, 4 speed not so much, and the headliner, etc all came with the cst package. Overall, I would say this pickup is unusual and uncommon(hard to find) because of the options thrown together on it. I have NEVER seen a 4 speed bucket seat pickup, but have heard of them, so that along with the cst package(most probably ordered automatics with the fanciest package you could get), and the fact it's just overall unusual as heck, that's what makes it hard to find. if you post some pics, I think everyone could give a better opinion on price, because condition matters a LOT!!

Re: Is this truck rare
4 speed is a good tranny on a 4-by if you actually want to use it -- i can't see that as a detriment on a 3/4 ton 4-by

Re: Is this truck rare
This truck has another rarity in that not only is it a bucket seat truck but it is a four speed bucket seat truck that is also 4x4. The 4x4 trucks supposedly used some type of spacer at the rear of the console which is a hen's tooth. I my opinion if true would make this truck pretty rare overall, as far as price- 4x4 is bringing more money currently but it depends on the shape of the truck and its originality.
