You could use the in the cab tank if you want, you would need to use a inline electric fuel pump. I have a fuel cell and I used a kit freom speedway that had fuel pump and regulator in it .

Re: 68 SWB 4.8/TH350 swap fuel tank help

thanks Indian113, I am trying to figure out what I will do and like everybody else the less expensive is always better for me. I will run the factory intake and I have the 2 line type with built in regulator. I should only need the pump and return line to tank. Do you know what pressure pump I should get? Thanks,

I would use a Walbro 255. I have pics of my factory tank set up in my build thread in my sig, the first one, the '72.

Re: 68 SWB 4.8/TH350 swap fuel tank help

I read your build and it was great. Thanks for the info. I see how you made the return line with existing tank. I was thinking of using the factory filter and MAF also and was thinking moving the battery to the drivers side for ease of connection since I have all the accessories. How did you install the battery on driver side, use a aux battery box or make something? Would you happen to have a picture of entire engine compartment?

Re: 68 SWB 4.8/TH350 swap fuel tank help

There is an issue you may have to deal with. Low fuel, tight corner, the gas will slosh to the side as there is not much for baffels in those tanks. Your carb had bowels to hold fuel for a short time when the there was no fuel flowing in. Your injector system does not.

Short easy fix is to keep the tank 1/2 full. Just beware.

I cut the ends of the battery tray sides off and flipped them around and welded them back together. There's pics of it in my other build thread (rusty '71) on post #86.

As for having starvation problems with low fuel, what I did was to bend the float arm of the fuel level sender up, so that it reads 'empty' when it actually had about a 1/4 tank of fuel left. It really didn't have any problems as long as you had the 1/4 tank of fuel, but I never autocrossed it or anything. You could however drive a long ways on empty!

thanks ERASER5, I appreciate the input. Still might go with moving tank. I will see when I go to Pull-a-part what I have to choose from as far as tanks go.

ls1nova71, sorry, I found the pictures for the engine compartment. I did not go far enough into the build before I asked the question. It was at the very end.
