Talking Barret Jackson WPB

I Just got back from the West Palm Beach Barret Jackson auction. All I can say is that there has been a hugh adjustment in the market price for the classics cars they are now selling for thousands less and to here from the organizers and sellers they were not real happy with the out come.

I will be adding some pics later and YES there was 1 Chevy C10 there and it sold. Will give the piticulars later have to get you taste buds ready.

Re: Barret Jackson WPB

there are only so many suckers ready to pay 200k for a hot rod, sooner or later even the suckers run out of money. Alot of the high dollar sales at BJ are actually curbers buying high and driving up the market prices so they can resale even higher.

Even more pics the green car was built for this auction by Chip Foose. I hope you enjoy them. Not bad pics from a camera phone.

I watched too many hours of the auction Saturday, but it was fun to see the very cool cars. The Hemisphere went for $300,000 as I remember. The buyer gets to choose his color and engine choice (the Hemi or a Ford GT engine). They said the 50 cars he plans to build will be sold for $295,000.

Re: Barret Jackson WPB

Yes that C-10 went for 31,000 It had a 400bb th-400. But it need work as the doors did not lineup and it had lost of orange peel in the paint. Not to get any one made just discribing the over all condition.

I watched on Sat and saw some good deals. I went last year and but missed getting a fully restored 4x4 blazer for $7300. I didn't go this year but who ever bought this 66 L79 corvette convertable also got a good deal for $57k.

I found this 1965 Corvette Coupe in P-Cola. It's a survivor:

42K Original miles
All #'s matching
Nassau Blue/blue interior
327 (L79 350 HP)
4spd
Kelsey Hayes nock-offs
Nice paint, glass, interior
Factory electric antenna
Original protecto plate

Everthing under the hood looks original and date coded. The current owner has documentation back to purchase (it was bought in Midland Texas, 6 owners). He's wanting to trade it for my 48 Chevy Truck. If I do, I would just resell it. Any guess as to what it's worth?

Re: Barret Jackson WPB

Does the corvette have original drive train? If it does that will bring up the price considerably, yremember only about 8500 coupes were built in for 65, I would state to ask somewhere around 45000.00 to start..........great car..........Joe

Re: Barret Jackson WPB

Rob,
with it being a coupe probabley $45-50K and L79 convertable should bring well over $60 which is why I posted that maroon one from BJWPB. Anyway I am a big fan of all mid 60's corvettes 327's included both coupe and roadsters. If I had the money I would buy if from you. I will just hand on to the link and see if I can track down that L79 in a few years and make the owner an offer.
