1968 chevy c10 long body
Hey everyone. Having a little issue with my c10. Bought the truck off of eBay. When it arrived to my house. I noticed the hood was short. It's not even with the fenders. Is it possible that the previous owner put another year on it?

Re: 1968 chevy c10 long body
67 & 68 hoods are the same, and will only fit 67 & 68 front clip. Probable need to adjust finders and core support.

Re: 1968 chevy c10 long body
Posted via Mobile DeviceHey thanks for the reply. I'm thinking maybe he put on a newer year hood. The hood can't adjust anymore. If I bring in more forward. There will be a huge gap. Here is a pic of the hood. Both side r the same. When I get home ill take more. Attachment 1022127

Re: 1968 chevy c10 long body
there's supposed to be a filler panel that goes between the grille and the hood. it's missing from what i can tell

Re: 1968 chevy c10 long body
Hard to tell from that picture but it maybe a 69-72 hood. Is the front sloped or straight up?

Ok here is some more pics. A new hood is close to $500. Don't mind ordering it. But don't want to and end up with the same problem.

Re: 1968 chevy c10 long body
the hood is from a 69 72 and your front fenders are 67 68 there is no way your gonna fix that gap without curtting adding sections of metal and welding it back up again. so either change the fenders, grille, rad. sup. to a 69 72 frontend or change the hood to a 67 68 hood and it will line up alot better

Re: 1968 chevy c10 long body
That looks like a 69-70 hood sitting on top of a 67-68 nose.

Re: 1968 chevy c10 long body
I had a feeling it was a newer year hood. I rather just buy a new hood. The truck is a 68. So I should get a hood from 68 or 69 an I should be good?

Re: 1968 chevy c10 long body
I would really look at Ebay for recouping some of the cost if it was a Paypal transaction. That, to me is a misrepresentation of a sale. Just my 2 cents tho. I would be pretty pissed.

Re: 1968 chevy c10 long body
Also keep in mind that a aftermarket hood could be a problem ... if you
order one dry fit it before you throw away the shipping box etc ... i have had several bad ones ...

Re: 1968 chevy c10 long body
Wow, someone definitely spent some money getting that truck painted... there's no way they could have remotely thought that was the right hood like that... wow...
However, I'm originally from NY, and I know how hard it is to find good parts up there...
