O.K. guys a few months ago I posted the thread about my disc brake install. It is complete and works great.

Hey J, I saw this in the most recent issue! Couldn't have been better timing!

I do have a question or two for you, though...I priced out that kit, is it really $2,200? That seems huuuuuge.

Also, that tie rod sleeve adapter - you know if anyone out there makes an adapter like that already to mate two *matching* sleeves together? Specifically, I'm looking for one to mate a 73-87 inner/outer sleeve.

I'm not actively looking - I picked up two $6 sleeves at the local parts store. I know someone here at the forum was looking into the possibility of fabbing one out for sale, but thought it would probably be a good idea to ask if one exists *before* the R&D went into it.

Shifty, yeah, it is part number A126. It really is pretty expensive. But as the photo shows it comes with everything and when you start pricing things such as

Drop spindles 299
Booster and master 399
New upper and lower ball joints, tie rods, sleeves that is a few hundred
Powdercoated calipers, brand new not rebuilt,

It quickly adds up. I belive Edelbrock makes the turnbuckle style sleeves! You may have to check. I will call around and see what I can come up with for you.

What if you already have a rebuilt front-end w/drop spindles? Seems out of reach for the blue-collar guy that's upgrading their truck in stages.

SSBC actually had several kits that are tailored to all kinds of upgrades last time I looked at them. I just happened to look up the cost out of curiosity when I got my last copy of Truck Builder and my jaw hit the floor

Yeah, they seel way more affordable ones. Each are designed for certain applications.

You can just get brakes if you need them.
