Would the 5 bolt axles from my 1985 10 bolt rear fit into a1995 6 lug rear? If not, why? Axle length or spline.

No, the 95 housing is wider and has 30 splines where your 85 is 28 spline.

Thanks. I knew they were different, just couldn't remember how. Have to pass on a really good deal, drat it.
