Paint Job Poll...
Hey guys, I am considering 2 paint jobs for my 68 rebuild. I like monochrome paint schemes very much, so I decided on either silver with black, or white with black. My only worry about the silver and black is that I live in California and I don't want people yelling out their windows at me " RAIDER NATION MAN, YEAH!" Please give me your opinions. These are just photoshopped paint jobs so try not to be too critical ,thanks.
white with black silver with black.

Re: Paint Job Poll...
silver and black.
But since you asked I dont like the strip on the side of the truck. Maybe a better rendering would change my mind but it looks out of place as it is. IMHO |

Re: Paint Job Poll...
Black/white or white/black is classic and yes no raider comments
It would be tough to beat the original type two tone black with white cab too on a 68 Xi don't mind the strip on the side but not diggin the hood |

Re: Paint Job Poll...
Conventional two tone black with a white top. The side stripe seems like eighties graphics.

Re: Paint Job Poll...
Personally, I think black and white are too strong a contrast. I know this wasn't a choice on the poll, but if you want a two tone, a really dark metallic grey and silver with a red pin stripe separating the two would be almost the same thing........Just my $0.02

Re: Paint Job Poll...
Definitely like the silver/black better, but agree with losing the black stripe...and honestly the rest of the black too.
Ultimately, do what you like the most |

Re: Paint Job Poll...
Silver + black. Instead of the black stripe ridding under the body line, how about above it all the way to the front. Losing the black on top of hood and cab.

Re: Paint Job Poll...
I just wanted something different. I am building a hot rod truck. I wasn't interested in factory piaint schemes save one' and that is the teal and white (only because my dad had one). But I want something that stands out and looks mean

Re: Paint Job Poll...
Reminds me a lot of the "Yenko" striped trucks (all tribute, Yenko never did a C10).

Re: Paint Job Poll...
How about a silver, like House of Kolor Orion Silver (BC02) and use HoK Galaxy Grey (BC03) instead of black? Strong contrast and no Raider nation. Use a lime green, yellow, orange, purple, red or blue pinstriping around the grey to give it just a tad of color.

Silver all the way.
And if you go with silver and black, just put a 49ers logo on your rear window. |

Re: Paint Job Poll...
My 2 cent$...
forget the side stripe... forget the grille color... keep it white. I like the hood color following that hood edge bodyline, but I suggest having the black follow that same bodyline so that the top of the hood around the windshield, top edge of door and the top of the cab are all black. I had visions of this on my current project, but then do realistic flames on the front of the black going back on the hood. But, for the record... I love the truck that was the inspiration.

Re: Paint Job Poll...
ok... after much deliberation and searching images, I have decided that I like this the best...It is the white with black that I like, ditched the hood and mid stripe. and it looks mean. I will be running blacked out marker lights too, and the bed inside will be black.
