What is your favorite year truck???
What is your favorite year truck? It does not have to be the year you own, but the style and look that is your favorite. If you can post a pick off the web or of your own that supports your answer. All trucks are awesome but looking for the best of the best in your opinion. I have a 72 and owned a 74...I really like both of these years.

Re: What is your favorite year truck???
I use to only like the 71-72 grill for these trucks and never liked the early 67-70 grills but now that i own a 69 i honestly love the 69 grillsfunny how that works. Im not a huge fan of the 67-68 grills but they do look cool, if i had one id keep it stock with just a few things to keep her running and drive as is. My favorite years for these trucks are 69-72 now. My father owned a 71 cheyenne and my grand father owned a 72 cheyenne so i guess these trucks run in my blood. There is a early chevys truck(i think the year is 55 but im not sure)that if i ever wanted to do a full of frame restore and not buy one thats already done that would be the truck id want to do.

Re: What is your favorite year truck???
even though i own three 72s my favorite is the 68. my first build on this era trucks was a 69 short step 4x4. when i was finished with it it had a fleetside bed and 68 nose, i still kick my a$$ for selling it. my second was a 72 3/4 ton 4x4 that i kept as a 72. if my current project wasn't a factory cheyenne 3/4 ton that was bought brand new by my now deceased uncle it would get a 68 nose too. that 67-68 nose just looks like it is correct in my opinion. 69-70s are next on my list. i've always thought 71-72 grilles look like the should have eggs in them, lol.

Re: What is your favorite year truck???
I am partial to the '67 swb stepside with the small rear window I used to have. It was my first truck. It had a 283(my favorite v-8) and a simple Rochester 2 barrel manual choke. I had her for 28 yrs. and sold her in '03 when we moved out of state for awhile. I have missed her ever since.

Re: What is your favorite year truck???
Man, that is a tough question. That is like saying do you like this supermodel or that supermodel......
I am partial to the 68, since I have had one in my life since I was 2 years old. However, I think the 67 CST SWB big back window has the smoothest lines. After adding a 72 to my stable, I have come to appreciate the creature comforts that more of these years offer stock and they don't look bad either. Not to forget the GMC's, I like the 68 to 70 chrome grille, but staying true to my 68 upbringing I do prefer the slanted 68 hood. How is that for a political answer? I guess it is like a wise old man once told me, you pick out HER best attribute and enjoy it. I take the same approach with the other ladies in my life - the 67-72 Chevy/GMC pickups!

They are pretty hard to find now days. My fourth truck was a 1965 Chevy swb stepper with a L6 and 3 on the tree, I have been GM every since. I think that was back in 1973. Unfortunately the '65 got totaled in 1976.

Re: What is your favorite year truck???
I am partial to the 67 because of the slope nose, split grille and no side marker lights. The lack of side markers is kind of a statement, "Stick it to da man" since we legally have to have them now.

Man, I want one of each. But I have to say I'm a bit partial to the 1970 inner/outer grille combo.
