I want to change my carburetor to an Edelbrock carburetor. Is a 1400 with electric choke a good move and should I just keep the stock manifold or change to a Edelbrock 2101. My blazer is just a dailey driver With a bone stock motor.
One more question. Where is a good place to buy this carb.?

Me personally, if it's the OE equipment your gonna replace I would just
remove the carb and intake as a unit, box it up, and keep it on a shelf,
as for where to buy, www.jegs.com and or www.summitracing.com

just remember not to go overboard (To big of intake or to much cfm's)

I've tried several variations---the edelbrock 1406 with electric choke is about as good a choice as you can get. Rather then going to a different intake, I recommend you stay with the original --just use an adapter for the different size venturi holes (orig small and big oO---Edelbrock= oooo). Going to a "performance intake" only resulted in a drop in gas mileage for me. Intakes really need to be matched to cam shafts to get the desired results. That also goes for exhaust headers. Staying close to stock has worked better for me in every case. The exceptions are---go to an HEI distributor eliminating the points and condenser---much better reliability. Also go to the internally regulated altinator eliminating the voltage regulator with mechanical points. Better charging. My .02

You cannot go wrong with the carb upgrade I run a edelbrock on my daily driven blazer and it has worked great in the 3 years its been on there..

i agree with huck, i got a 1406 on my blazer(along with the other mods he mentioned) but i got an aluminum intake,i dought it would matter to you in texas,but my blazer is cold natured and it helps it warm up a little faster,unlike huck i`m not retired and i got to drive to work in some pretty cold mornings

just make sure you get the eletric choke, i got a 1405 and its a manual, i hate it....
