73-87 Engine Mounts in 67-72 Question

So from the suburban that i got the 6.2 out of, i still have the whole frame with the engine mounts, towers and all. I know that i need BBC mounts for a 67-72 for clearance but if i just use the pre-existing stuff from the 82 burb, will it essentially give me the equivalent of sbc or bbc stands?

I don't know if you are familiar with the FAQ Forum or not. Scroll down to the bottom of this page and you will see the "Forum Jump" box. Click on the little down arrow on the right side of the box and scroll down to "FAQ Truck Tech". On that page go down to "Thread / Thread Starter: FAQ Index Thread". When you get into that scroll through the different sections and you will find answers to questions you haven't even thought of yet....

The section you want right now is the "Engine and Drivetrain related FAQ's". Scroll down to that and there are two threads on the engine mount subject. They are:

Big Block Motor Mounts on the cheap.
and
How to adapt 73-87 engine mounts to a 67-72 frame

I could have just posted a direct link but there is a lot of good info in the FAQ section and now the people that read this thread will know how to get to it. Thanks to Krue for indexing the FAQ's

You might want to check out the "Projects and builds" forum for some good info too.

Well done Leon. To me tools are always better than a short answer.

Thanks Tim. I couldn't believe the information posted there when a member turned me onto the FAQ Forum. That was when I was new to the board in 2006.

Re: 73-87 Engine Mounts in 67-72 Question

Sorry for my stupidity, it was in the 67-72 faq section. So if i understand this right, you use the 73-87 stands and than small block rubber mounts? And this in theory should give me 67-72 big block clearance? This is all for a 6.2 remember
