hey everybody , 1st timer
this is the perfect site for what I am about to attempt. I bought a 68 chevy shortbed stepside last april . got it in SC , blew up in NC , on the way home to VA . owner said 350 was totally rebuilt , it looked and sounded good until about 100 miles heading home and then it was all over but the crying . so I decided , what better time than now to do a total restoration . so far ,a little over halfway into teardown , and cant wait to start stripping the frame . got ahold of a 327 out of a 65 vette and having the machine work done as we speek . also changing the 4:11 rear to a 3:42 for highway crusin . any suggestions on any part of resto would be greatly appreciated .this is my first time so please be gentle . thanks for listening to my story

Re: hey everybody , 1st timer
Looks like a solid starting point. I like the stance and tire/wheel combo.

Re: hey everybody , 1st timer
Nice looking rig. Congrats. Too bad about the motor, but now the truck will get a full resto. Maybe she did it to you on purpose? These trucks do seem to have a mind of their own at times.

Re: hey everybody , 1st timer
Welcome, I bought a rattle can rebuild once. I knew the guy was full of crap. I expected it to take a dump and it did. As far as any restoration suggestions. I would say become familiar with the "search forums" there is a lot of great guys and information on here. and dont be afraid to ask.
