few more pictures of my build
I managed to get out before the last cold blast of winter hit to get a few more pictures. I have not been able to get anything else done as it turned real cold, like -25 c during the warmest part of the day. It was so cold it froze my battery in my tractor up solid. I was able to bring it inside and re-install and with a boost managed to get the tractor going to dig us out.
Anyway here are a few more shots of how I am planning the front rad supports. They are fabricated from some parts I took off of a 1979 Chev 4 x 4 frame I have sitting out back. The front cab mounts are going to get built up so I can get the rubber spacers down to about an inch in height rather than the the ca. 4 inches that you see in the picture. Not sure if I am going to bolt them in or weld them once I get them built up. Also threw in a shot of some free grey leather electric seats that work that I was given. I need to lower them a bit but do not want to cut into the floor so will cut down the seat brackets an inch or two. Also have one shot showing approximately how the cab and box will sit with just less than a 4 inch gap. 56hotrodred |

Re: few more pictures of my build
That was a serious cold snap. It has backed off for us a bit with a west wind picking up - our famous chinook - but it is supposed to get cold again
The truck is in pretty good shape just a few thin spots & dents. I had to buy a different front clip as the fenders had been patched up - poorly - and were way out of whack. I really do not think it is going to be done for this summer as money is a little tight for us these days. I am hoping to be able to spend some money on my shop & adjoining portion of barn this year and maybe get the truck running for next year. I am also planning on getting the cab into the body shop this spring when the senior body shop guy gets back from his winter vacation. So if all goes well I will have the body done by late summer or fall and then get an engine and transmission sometime next winter. Once it is running then I can play with fine tuning things like air ride suspension, interior, etc... No worries about the floor piece as it is way too cold to even go out and consider working on it. My hopes for the cab as said is to be able to give it to the body shop sometime in March or April with as much of the little things done as I can. 56hotrodred |

Re: few more pictures of my build
looking good, I had dome the same thing a few yrs back setting a 56 on an 81 chassis, but i did notch out the cab from the rear seat rail towards the back of the cab which dropped it down nicely. but i didnt like the 4" gap between the cab and box
