Re: Need advice on headliner install

I used black super weather strip adhesive from 3m the spray stuff is not strong enough for the heavy liner IMO - mine has been up for 6 years and is as tight as it was when installed. When you install it have some boards cut to wedge in seat and hold liner in place until glue has time to set unless you just want to sit there and hold it. Hope this helps.

I would recomend getting the trim for it and using very small screws to hold it up. They can't be any longer than a 1/4 inch and you have to break the tabs off of the trim if your cab didn't come with a headliner. I still used glue on mine also.

actually, the trim alone won't hold it. if you remove a factory one, you'll see they were glued up also.
I used niquid nails on mine, and used a langth of 2X4 (wrapped in an old blanket) supported by 2 other 2X4's with the seat springs applying pressure. 3 years,so far, so good, and I have no doubt it'll hold forever.

Re: Need advice on headliner install

Mine had the headliner & trim, just replacing them during this resto. Wanted to do it right the first time. The original glue had let go after only 37 years....HAHA. Greg
