Question 1968 Rearend
I have a 1968 truck that I need to find a rear end for. My question is 1967-68 different from a 1969-70 rearend. I know they are both six lug but someone told me the 67-68 is narrower. I know they will interchange but trying to keep it as original as possible. Thanks for the help.

Re: Question 1968 Rearend
I think the wider rear was a mid 70 change. If you want to stay correct, just measure across the backing plates and match it up.

Re: Question 1968 Rearend
67-69 will definitely work. You'll have to measure a 70 to see if it's the narrow or wide rearend.

Re: Question 1968 Rearend
If you're planning a disc brake swap,it may be better to use the wider rear.A disc swap widens the front track width by 3/4 in each side and the wider rear will bring it close to even.
