Ever seen muffler right by the rear bumper?
We have a 75 corvette and the stock muffler location was right at the rear bumber and has about 4 inchs of pipe afterward turned down. It has flowmaster 40s just like my 70. the 70 is currently just dumped before the rear end. I would like to find a way to put these mufflers after the diff and have them turned down. The corvette is alot quiter in the vehicle and sounds awesome when you get on it, its the sound i am after I just dont see a way to mount them back there, and seeing the the truck has not motor currently i cant just run it up to the muffler shop.
Suggestions and pics would be awesome. |

Re: Ever seen muffler right by the rear bumper?
Sorry for the large pic, but use this muffler. It is a flowmaster 1 chamber muffler. These are much more agressive than the 40 series and should give you the sound you are after. The case is about 3" thick, 5" long(excluding the inlet/outlet lengths) and 8" wide. The key is that they will fit into a tight space. I have these on both of my Camaros and this is a friends car with the same mufflers. They are 2.5" and are dumped at the rear axle.
