Identity crisis lol should it be a 63 c10 or a Gmc now

I need opinions on my issue I have, I tried finding a good 63 cab for my 63 c10 short fleet, all I could find was rusty 60-63 that weren't much better than mine. I ended up buying a 66 gmc cab that is a factory BBW, and has minimal floor pan rust. I am wondering if I should just transfer my serial plate from my junk 63 cab to the 66 and not worry about it, I know in my province it doesn't really matter since we don't have titles, they just need a good serial number. Since all that will have changed is the cab all the rest is 63 other than the appearance differences in the cab. I just don't want it to be labeled a 66 GMC while looking like a 63 c10. What do you guys think?

that is a subject not discussed on the forum, due to it being illegal to swap VIN plates on vehicles. I dont know Canadian law but would assume it is close to not good.

Why not just get a title for the 66 and call it a GMC?

I would leave the 66 GMC tag in the cab AND then pop rivet the 63 tag near it in most places the frame number is more important then the cab tag/number as parts get changed over years for a number of reasons (wrecks.rust ECT) after years in body and fender work i have seen many a body/cab change/splice ECT

excellent idea, that will be what I will do, I can even put it in the factory location since the gmc plate is on the top of the door opening in the cab. 63 goes in the lh door pillar area under the top hinge.
