trying to break into the thirteens.
last time i was at the track i ran a 14.40 This time im wanting to get into the thirteens. but anyways my real question. how big of a difference is it going to be switching from 3.07 gears to 3.73s? couple tenths?

Swapping from 3.07 to 3.73 is a world of difference. I swapped mine from a 3.42 to a 3.73 and picked up a little over half a second. How much time you pick up depends on your setup. What kind of rpm range your engine runs, your transmission, stall convertor and so on.
