Question shift light

I bought a stand alone shift light from summit made by PRO-FORM ....I am having a problem with the shift light stayin on ?????It worked the first couple of days and then bam it just stays on when ever the key is on......Any ideas?????? OH the power wire is hooked to the ignition fuse on the fuse box..

i have found taht often times if you just hit lights with hammers they will go out. we turned a honda civic into a oval racer once check engine would turn of so we just took a hammer to it. but that was after it wrecked and rolled down the track. the whole 500 dollar investment out the drain. not bad for a summer of 1/8 mile racing.
