leaf to arm q's
i'am thinking of switching out my leafs to trailing arm/air bag set up.i was told that the arms are the same for short or long wheel base trucks,is this correct?what all do i need to get from the donor truck for the swap?to put air bags on it i would just pull out the coils and weld in buckets/brackets for the bags correct?

Re: leaf to arm q's
John- This conversion should be pretty straight forward if you have a donor truck. You'll need the cross member, trailing arms, rear axle, panhard bar mount, panhard bar and maybe the shock mounts. With all these parts cleaned up and painted you're ready to start bolting the stuff in. Ya' know I'm just a few blocks away- so when you're ready, give me a holler and I'll come by and help you wrestle the heavier stuff around.
Also, I have a small open-air sandblaster that I would be glad to use on cleaning up your conversion parts!

Re: leaf to arm q's
thanks for the info and offers.the truck is getting put on hold and the ss is getting my attention this winter.i looked at the pile of parts i have and the less money to complete which project made it the winner.but i will be keeping my eye out for a donor truck.maybe we could talk about going in on one that we could part out and help both our trucks at the same time?
