Parts truck

I haven't had a lot of time to spend on the truck lately but I did find the parts truck that I needed. It was listed as a 69 Chevy 4X4. What I needed was the frame so I could make mine a 4X4. I got a lot more and for $200 dollars. It has a small block, 4 speed with granny and the transfer case. It has GMC front clip and some extra body panels. When I get some time I will try to run the VIN.

Re: Parts truck

So the truck has had some body work done on it, really BAD body work. here are some of the panels that came with it. Once I get started I will start a build thread. Not pictured is another hood

I agree, might end up building two trucks. Living in the heart of rust country can be hard.

Re: Parts truck

If you paid 200 for all of that you got a hell of a deal In My opinion. Do I spy front disk brakes? The only thing it appears to have that I'd probably get rid of is a t221 transfer case.(parts for them are hard to come by) I'm Not for sure that's what it is but that's definitely not a 205.

Re: Parts truck

What picture did you see the xfer case? I only took a quick look to make sure it was there. It doesn't matter that much I have enough xfer cases around I'm sure I can scare one up. I normally build Jeep so I have a lot of 4X4 parts. I do have a D300 that I have been saving that might look good on this truck.

Re: Parts truck

Didn't see the case only the shifter. That's not a 205 shifter or at least it's quite different than the shifter in my K/20. A 69 should have had a 205 I had a brain fart for a minute and was thinking the t221 was from 67-69 but I'm confident it was 67-68. A pic of the case will positively id it if your unsure.

69 had the 221 also, 205 started in 70 but had a different shifter than 71-72.

Re: Parts truck

That Xsfer case stick is turned 90 degrees from mine ('69 w/ T221).

If freight weren't such a pain, I'd offer to buy your T221 if you swap it out. I wouldn't mind keeping an extra around.
