Lowering rear end an inch or so
I'd like to lower the rear on my shortbed just a little. I like the height in the front, but I also like a little bit of rake to my trucks. The rear is just too high, though. If I could lower it about an inch that would be great. I don't really feel comfortable taking a spring out of the pack, for fear it will be too weak. Is there a relatively easy way to lower it without doing a complete drop?

Does it have a drop shackle on it yet? That'd be an easy way to get an inch or so...

A drop shackle looks identical to the stock shackle, just longer (the leaf springs are mounted higher up). Most drop shackles I've seen have 2 sets of holes, so you can drop it 1" or 2". Might check to see if yours has an extra set of holes. If it does, hopefully they're above the ones you are using now. Thay way, you can change the mounting location of the springs and have your 1".
