steel wheels and suede

I am considering the whole red wheel thing on the suede beast...anybody have any pictures of this style? Not real sure that look can be pulled off. I was thinking of a 69 chevelle stripe, the same color of the wheel to blend the look if you will, opinions?

I think the rat rod look is better suited on an older vehicle.

I also think it looks better on older cars. I like the dull/flat paint and go fast parts as it reminds me of what a hot rod orginally was. Maybe not the flat paint thing but the idea of buying a cheap car and making it go fast. I think the flat thing if anything looks more traditional and that the unpainted rusted what seemed to be cobbled together creations (often actually well built) are more along the lines of a rat rod. But that is just me.

I dought it is ever going to completely die. but it should die down a bit

Other flattened colors have gained in popularity too

Re: steel wheels and suede

thanks guys and thanks for the pics, I don't think that look is for me. Maybe suede wheels like the body with white letter tires, ala nascar ish?

the red and black ralleys with the trim rings and center caps are 275/60r15 rear and 255/60r15 front. the black ralleys with no ring or caps are factory size like 235/75r15.

I dig the paint, and since I sold mine today, I'll give you my vision. Go with the Wheel Vintiques 17" steel wheel, powder coat them black, and get the Candy Store 17" white walls. I don't think red would look right, but just my opinion.

Props again on your ride.

Re: steel wheels and suede

Build it the way you like it, hoss. That way you don't have to worry about whatever the new trend is.

One of the best things about an old car, truck, or whatever is that as long as you're not starting with something like Ken or Frank, whatever you do is generally an improvement.

I know it's the wrong year, but here's some rallies without shiney stuff. That's how I prefer to rock 'em.
