Re: 70 jimmy question

The emblem above the door handle says it all, CUSTOM. No CST but just custom.

Re: 70 jimmy question

My'70 Jimmy has the "Custom" script above the door handle, and on the outside of the glovebox door as well as
"Custom Sport Truck" (CST)on the SPID lable. When you say "Custom" on the glovebox door I assume you mean the outer emblem. Look at the lable inside the door.

I will take that as a doubtful answer and your right, it does not say "CST"
It says "Custom Sport Truck". I put CST in my comment in case he didn't know what the initals meant. Thats why they were in parenthesis.

Here is a pic.

Thanks for the pic though.
Gee-- I get it now-LOL. No apology necessary, just thought I better clarify what I meant there. Thanks for the input. It is always fun reading the discoveries and little known info you guys come up with here.

I have never seen CST badged on the outside on a Jimmy either. I can count on one hand how many first gen Jimmys I have seen in the last 35 years in this area, so it doesn't qualify me to say GMC never badged any that way.
There is a member here that makes extremely accurate spid label reproductions, if you would like go get one, but I can't remember his user name. I'm sure someone will know who I mean. His prices were cheap too!

Here is a pic of my glovebox door. It says GMC in that silver rectangle. It has faded badly. Do you know the original colors on that part?
By the way, your Blazer is sweet too!

Re: 70 jimmy question

"Custom" is the GMC equivalent of "CST" for Chevy. In other words, a "Custom" Jimmy would have the Custom Sport Truck option on the spid. Since the Jimmy and Blazer are both GM vehicles.

Re: 70 jimmy question

You're glove box badge looks pretty much like new. That's the color they were. And yes the chevy cst and gmc custom are the same thing. Custom package came with side stips with wood grain insets, carpets, different seat covers, and chrome sticks. And if I remember right chrome bumpers. Your truck looks real nice. And welcome to the world of Jimmys & Blazers.

Thanks for that info on colors. It just seems that at one time the "GMC" on that badge showed up better than it does now. I guess I gotta consider my eyes are also 37 years older!
