Mirrors
I want to take off the camper mirrors and replace them with sport mirrors. I wanted to use GM but cant find any that are in decent shape and dont want to pay a $#!&load of cash for NOS. Can anyone tell me how the repops are? I used them on me Camaro and after 2 years they became loose at the adjusting ball and had to remove the glass and tighten up the tension on the adjusting ball, reglued the glass and works fine now.
I also started taking my truck apart and was pleased with the floor. Just a little surface rust on the driver side but no holes or week spots. The rest of the floor was clean (with exception of the New Mexico dirt road remanants).

congrats on the floorboards, saves you lots of time and money. I would check out the classifieds first, OEM is better than any repop(not knocking repops) just some parts are better than others. After many years of working on these restos, repop parts are last choice, only because you can't tell how it holds up until you put into service...then it's to late to return it
If you go repop parts go with one of out venders, I'm sure they would stand behind their product, if you have a problem down the road

 I got some stock one's from LMC and they seem to be ok, but time will tell how they last. If I could have found some NOS I would have went that route. Congrats on the starting point, looks like it needs very little rust repair.

I've got repops on mine and they are fine. However, I am thinking about going to a mirror more like yours since I will probably use mine for towing in the future.

You might want to sit in a truck with the 71-72 mirrors and see if you like them. The 69-70 give a better view of what is going on behind you. The right hand 71-72 style is almost useless.

What he said. They look great on the outside, but the right is a little difficult to see much out of.

 My factory style 72 , I have replace this mirror 3 times so far, trees and rocks jump out at me from time too time. I get replacements from Chevy Duty or I think it's called ClassicParts.com now. They are just like factory but 35 bucks a mirror. They are small and you do need to get use to that tight view but they work and I miss it when it's gone so...
