Preferred sway bars??

Looking for a good quality sway bar.

Will the sway bar transfer over when I get my drop member??

Re: Preferred sway bars??

Sway bars are very use specific, tires, driving style/conditions, shocks, ride height, and spring rate all play a role in what sway bar would work the best.
That being said anything is better than nothing (unless you're playing offroad) and the 73-87 bar is cheap and popular upgrade.

Yea. I'm sure I can get it from porterbuilt when I get the dropmember. I was thinking what to use in the meantime.

Thanks man. Had no idea they were that specific. Mostly going to just drive it. And turn some corners from time to time. But no real cornering or auto x.

Re: Preferred sway bars??

I have Hellwig on the front and rear of my GMC and man, .. I'm telling you. It's like night and day difference. I would highly recommend their stuff, .. or I like the Hotchkis rear setup too. It really gave the truck a 'planted' feel, and not harsh at all. I have a 5/7 (roughly) drop which looks about like what you have in your avatar.

Re: Preferred sway bars??

I also would like to hear some input on sway bars. I've heard that 73-up front bars work on 67-72, but I thought the ends on the newer bars use links and bushings. Will these actually fit on older trucks?

Re: Preferred sway bars??

73-87 front sway bars bolt right on. Your lower control arms are even drilled for them from the factory. See the sway bar FAQ for more pictures and descriptions.
