Why do you like your year truck?
Is it a styling issue, or something else? I like my '67, and I prefer '67's, because it was the original idea - it was not building on the year before, it was the first of the series - and it was such a clean, new, original look. It came out of someone's head almost from scratch - if you look at the '66's, they are light years apart from the '67's. There are not many things you can say that about anymore, and if you can, more often than not, they don't work (re:Edsels, those goofy Buick hatchback things, Gremlins). It's pretty cool to see that first year, when they took the chance with the new design not knowing if it would work or not. What is it you guys like about the year you have?

Re: Why do you like your year truck?
Well, owning a '67 myself, I can appreciate your views. I think a couple of the biggest reasons why I love my '67 is that it is a one year only design. The '68's were similar, but not the same. It can make finding replacement items tricky, but in the end I have something unique.

Re: Why do you like your year truck?
Let's see.....
67/68 - I prefer the 68 over the 67 by a narrow margin probably because my Dad had one. Still prefer the steering wheels and parking brakes on these over the later versions. 69/70 - Just not happy with the grilles on these. I don't really know why. It just doesn't work for me. If I got a good deal on one of these, I'd be really tempted to put a 71/72 grille on it. 71/72 - Prefer the 71 over the 72. I've never liked rear view mirrors glued to the windshield and I dead flat hate 72 door panels! All in all, I'm very happy with my 71, but would love another 68 to go with it!

Re: Why do you like your year truck?
I like 67s too, but my favorite ones are 68s, why? Because they grabbed a 67 but made it better looking (two toned, front trim, look at a 50th for example, 68s the most beautiful looking trucks chevy has ever made..MPO
I guess that answers why I like my truck (68) so much. |

Re: Why do you like your year truck?
Love my 69 for sentimental reason to be honest
was my grandfathers pride in joy n he past it down... Other than that my next project would have to be a 68 i love the grille n the hoods make them look a little more mean in my eyes but thats just me

Re: Why do you like your year truck?
I like the 72 truck, disc brakes, lots of replacement rear view mirrors, easy to do aftermarket door panels, and the 67 front clip swaps right on!!!

Pretty much the opposite. I prefer the looks of the 69/70 Chevy's over the others. 67/68 would be second. Like the idea of the disc brakes on the 71/72, I just do not like the looks. I rate all the GMCs with the 69/70 Chevy's for looks.

I like all of the 67-72 Chevy and GMC Trucks, but my favorite is a 72 Chevy. Mostly because it reminds me of what my Grandpa always drove.

Re: Why do you like your year truck?
Building a 67, my dad bought a brand new 67 burban with a 283 and a glide, I was 8 years old and fondly remember going to Pontiac Michigan to pick it up, he had Zebart under coating put on it, I still remember that smell and everything about the ride home.

Re: Why do you like your year truck?
'69, ultimately it's the grille design still seen today. The upright hoods are very similar to the modern HD hood of the last 10 or so years too. Plus, '69 has all sorts of favorable references.

Re: Why do you like your year truck?
I think in case of a 40 year old vehicle it would be funny to compare technical aspects of different years. I like mine simply because we both got off the conveyor almost simultaneously.

Re: Why do you like your year truck?
We see the changes from within the 67-72s as alot more than they really are,or were intended.i don`t think GM thought of them as all that different at the time. These are transition years from what trucks were into what trucks are today. So,the biggest differences are mechanical.Trucks never have gone through year to year changes like cars have,so I like all 67-72s and appreciate each for it`s minor differences.GMCs don`t show as obvious changes throughout the run.My year truck at the moment is`67,`70,`71,and`72 in Chevy and GMC.

Re: Why do you like your year truck?
I love the gmc's. The grilles are what attracts me. Four headlights, very simple and clean. Just a beautiful front end.

Re: Why do you like your year truck?
I have a 70cst because that is what I happened to find in the Truck Trader while in Tn. on a business trip back in 2000. I was initially looking for a 48-55 Chevy 1/2 ton (like my Dad owned) but I saw this fully loaded BB C10 and knew I couldn't pass her up. I got the truck version of a muscle car. Geee...if this truck was a muscle car I wouldn't be able to afford her. The longer I've had the "Circuit Rider" the better I like the look. But I do like the look of the 68. Another interesting point...I graduated from H.S. in 1970.

Re: Why do you like your year truck?
As far as the years go, I like the styling of the 68 chevy grill and hood the best, plus the big back window. I don't really like the small windows. I do like the lack of side marker lights on the 67s (removed on my 68 as well)
Next I would say the 72s just because of the 5 lug, disk brakes, updated interior. Also, I like the 67/68 chevy grills, followed by the GMC grills. Then I like the 71/72 grills, and finally the 69/70 grills. |

Re: Why do you like your year truck?
I definitely like the looks of the 67-68s the best, which is why I looked high and low for one around here. Glad I found my 68! Also glad it's a fleetside longbed, cause that's what I like the best as well. Never really liked the looks of any stepside trucks. Just my personal taste though...

Re: Why do you like your year truck?
Well, I would not turn down anyone someone wanted to give me.
I love my 69, though. It is my fourth. My dad drove a 69. I wrecked my dad's 69, and it became a father-son project. It was the first vehicle for all five of us boys. I guess it's just fond memories from my childhood. I still remember sitting outside in the evenings with my dad while we listened to the Brave's games on the AM radio.

Re: Why do you like your year truck?
My deal is mostly sentimental, since I grew up in my 68 burb. It has a lot of memories for me, and as a bonus it just so happens to be one of Chevrolet's best looking trucks.
I like all of the 67-72's more so than the earlier/later models, since those were the ones I saw running around most of my adolescent life. Plus I think they were the toughest trucks Chevrolet ever built hands down, from the lessons learned and the new inovations they were truely Chevy tough.

Re: Why do you like your year truck?
I prefer the 68 for a lowered street truck because of the grille and big back window and side moldings. Hate the small back window. I prefer the 71-72 for a 4x4 or lifted 2wd truck because of the tougher looking front end. hate the 69 and 70 becasue of the butt ugly grilles.
