Re: 1969 gmc Question

For the front I plan on using ece (early classic enterprises) conversion spindles to convert mine. If you are planning on swapping to disks or lowering this is the best option because you can do all of this in one step. for the back it depends on if you have leaf or trailing arms, if leaf then just find a rear that fits or is the same width and mount new spring perches (great time to do a flip kit if you want it lower), or if is trailing arm just get a 1/2 ton rear and it will bolt right up. Good luck!

Re: 1969 gmc Question

forgot to mention that when you swap rears you will prob need a convesion u-joint. they have one pair of caps the size of your driveline and one pair of smaller caps for the 1/2 ton rear.

Re: 1969 gmc Question

I have a 68 GMC and in a similar circumstance. I also have a 70 1/2 lwb that I am converting to a swb. So the plan for me is to put my 70 on a swb frame [already got the frame rolling with 5lug]. I then will use the 70 lwb frame to change my 3/4 ton with leafs to a 1/2 to with rear coils. I know that don't help you any but thats what I'm doing. I know it sounds like a lot of work but not really. I use a two pst lift to raise the cab and I allready have the lwb bed mounted on the rotissere.I do this sort of thing for a living so, its just more work. Jim
