power antenna
i am wanting to put a power antenna on my truck but in the stoc location but all the power antennas that i found need about 8-10 inches of clearance below the fender. I was wondering if i would be able to drill a hole directly below the stock mounting hole large enough to fit the antenna through without affecting anything else on the truck

Power antenna
I don't think it will work because of the way the inner panel is for the fire wall. take the cowl off and you will see what I mean. But hay anything is possible with a enough money and engineering.

I'd like to do the same thing to the Blazer only french it at the same time. I think I'm going to do it were the stock gas tank filler neck is.

FRENCH
This is how mine looks. I placed it on the passenger side. I wish now I had taken the tank out when I did this, because now I have to fill that hole up also.

I was thinking of installing a hidden antenna, in the headliner or somewhere else. Has anyone done this?

KEH, mine is mounted under the dash crossways.I just built a mount and bolted it in then ran the wire to it.It probably doesn't pick up as well if it was on the fender but I have cassette and just copy what I want to hear off of CD's at home so it doesn't bother me if I pass thru an occassional "dead" area.

PanelDeland,
I may do the same you did, but after thinking about it, I'm sure that I will also get a satelite radio system. They sound like a great deal, but I haven't talked with anyone who has one...

I once saw someone french the antenna like the picture shows, but instead of just a round recessed area, they did it in the shape of a bowtie. Looked pretty sweet.

Power Antenna
It's just a aftermarket you buy at NAPA. Just wire it up to a hot and ground and to power lead from radio.

Harada and others offer a remote motor antenna. It's basically the same as their standard power antenna but the motor is on a flexible shaft so you can mount it curved to one side. Jaguar XJ's have this type as well.
