68 C/10 build
I am the second owner of the truck, my mom and dad were the original owners purchasing it shortly after getting married. It was originally a step side 6 cylinder but has seen many transformations over the years and survived catching on fire, me and my two brothers learning how to drive and a whole lot more. I got i from my parents in the early 90's and drove it for a few years after giving it a freshly rebuilt 327. Other projects got in the way and it found its way to the garage where it set for a few years before i decided to start a frame off restoration. Pictures below are over the last 3 years, restoration stalled for awhile for a divorce, job change and move from Georgia to Tennessee. Hope you enjoy.

Re: 68 C/10 build
I always wanted a tubular control arm front suspension and decided to try my hand at fabricating one myself and here are some of the results. I will just fork out the dough next time and buy a kit but it was fun anyway. I installed a fat bar rear suspension from No Limit.

Re: 68 C/10 build
I originally wanted to build a big block but have since change my mind, here are a few picks mocked up with the BB and an ole intake i had laying around. I have recently bought a 6 liter eng. and trans out of a low mileage c2500 and have a Magnuson Supercharger ready to go on top. Should have some pics of the LS sitting in there pretty soon. Stay Tuned!!

Re: 68 C/10 build
Look'n Good, Billy Ray!!!
As much as I am a fan of the "old" Chevrolet engines, the LS engine is an awesome engine, just like 1955 all over again, when folks were scrambling through the junk yards for freshly wrecked Chevy's with 265's in them. When have you heard of somebody planting a Triton or a hemi into a Hot Rod, it happens, but rarely!!! |

Re: 68 C/10 build
Thanks Boyd. I decided on a purple from house of kolor I planned on shooting the cab and firewall this weekend but I don't think the weather is going to cooperate. Might have to load it up and take it to my brothers shop, he has 2 heated booths.

I put a little color on the cab. I had to order some more base coat and wasn't able to put any clear on it yet.
