does this sound like a good deal?
i'm trading my 79 swb stright 6, th350, lowered 3/5, tilt wheel a/c, runs good for a 1964 swb v8 (don't know yet 283 or 327)(i'm dreaming it's a 327), automatic, appears to be in decent shape. sound good to ya'll i value my 79 @ $2500-3000
i haven't touched the 64 yet it's about 4 hrs away. this is the first time i've ever traded long distance. kinda scared. i'm gonna meet the guy half way this weekend as long as the weather don't get too bad FAY i hope we can, trade i have lost interest in the 79 and want something older. i believe this is a decent trade and i'm not losing my a** i think my truck is currentley worth a little more than the one i'm getting but i want something older |

Depends on what you really want. I love 66's and would trade for a one in a minute. Good luck with the trade and watch out for Fay.

Does the 64 have a bed? Do you have some better pics of the 64? Your 79 looks clean!!

Re: does this sound like a good deal?
I dont know how things rust in Bama, but I would check the floors out real well under the kick panel vents, cab supports, and the rockers. Also the lower door shells and lower fenders as well. Even a tiny bit of rust showing will usually turn into a horror show. It looks good in the pic. If its a good runner and not to rusty, I'd guess it's a 2 grander and will be more desireable in the long run after you tweek it. Hows that bed doing?

Re: does this sound like a good deal?
my truck looks better in the pic than it does in life. the clear is peeling off and it has the typical rust (rockers cab corners bottom of front fenders) if you look in the pic from the front you can see it peeling on the passenger side of the hood. a stepside bed is included you can see a little of it in the background it doesnt have anything inside the bed (wood)

Re: does this sound like a good deal?
Very easy... just take a newer front crossmember like 70-87 or something like that.... slide it under your trucks frame and its done. I think 2 holes on each side just need ovaled out a little but it is pretty well a bolt in. I have a 87 front crossmember in my 65, along with the power steering

Re: does this sound like a good deal?
Looks like the first order of business will be to fix the wiring and get rid af all those toggle switches. It also appears that the cab has been leaking by the look of the stain on the passengers side kick panel.
You might want to swing by the Pull A Part in Montgomery sometime for extra parts. They had 3 or so 60-63 models a few weeks ago, might have something different by now. Good Luck! (Oh yeah, we'll ALL be watching out for FAY.) |

Re: does this sound like a good deal?
you can just bolt up later model control arms to the 64 cross member. No sense in doing all that work for the whole crossmember. You can also use the center link and power steering box from the later trucks also. You just have to replumb the brake lines for the disc and don't forget the master..
