Trying to remove dash pad.
I give. How does this thing come off anyway. I got a philips screwdriver out and poked it into the holes in the face of the pad and there are no fasteners in there. (removed/and or lost by prior owner?) I can lift the face straight up slightly, but it seems that there are maybe some other fasteners holding it down???
I didn't crawl under the dash to look and I went after the more obvious glovebox door and such. I would imagine it must be something fairly simple, I thought I would ask before braking something ![]() |

Wolfthing,
There are seven (7) bolts molded into the pad that stick through the metal dash. They have 5/16 or 3/8 nuts on them. You have to get under the dash...they are behind the gauge bezel, above the radio opening, and behind the glove box lining. Hope that helps.

You have to remove the glove box and you might as well pull the gauge cluster and and drop the heater contols and radio, I don't think you can get at the little stud bolts otherwise.

There is also one in each corner that has a funny angle on it. Always the hardest for me to get undone and especially to get started when putting back on.
Good luck - Bob

They are in there good for sure.
I'm strongly considering leaving mine off and filling the holes ![]() |
