best way to get rear disk brakes?
would buying a new kit for our trucks be best?
or would just swapping axles out with something else? what could i find that would fit pretty well? what year/model ford 9"'s will fit? what about any 12bolt axles from cars with disc brakes? |

This might sound odd, but why not look at a 85 - 93 cadillac rear with disc brakes. A friend of mine who owns a 69 mach one (yes a f..d) took the disc brake assembly off a caddy and fabricated it to a 9" f..d rear. With a little playing around with a porportioning valve and master cylinder he came up with a really cool disc brake set up for the rear of the mach 1, I was pretty amazed at what he was able to do, fabricating it to the 9". So why not check it out, there all GM products so it should go together easier than a 9".
I believe he spent around $150 - $200 for everything. Tom
