Disconnected modulator line
I disconnected mine and it is shifting firm and at higher rpms like i wanted.
Will it damage the trans to keep driving it with it unhooked? I was gonna get a governor spring and weight kit because it was shifting too soon but now I don't need it as long as it won't hurt anything. It's shifting about 4k rpms [1st to 2nd] l would guess and a little less rpms [2nd to 3rd]--l don't have a tach. |

Re: Disconnected modulator line
No, it won't hurt anything but it might get annoying driving around town when it won't shift until it hits 4000 rpms, and also you will free-rev every time you let off the gas. The governor kit is pretty simple to use. Also there is a screw in the modulator that can help firm up the shifts. It also won't affect WOT shifts so if those aren't where you want them you will need the governor kit anyway.

Re: Disconnected modulator line
I've had one come undone before accidentally and it would downshift too soon and only shift at WOT.
But this one is actually shifting like l was hoping it would with the gov kit. Also it isn't free-reving when l let off the gas or downshifting too soon. |
