Who rebuilds vent windows?
Is there anyone here on the board that rebuilds vent windows? In other words, you send them your vent windows and they come back rebuilt and ready to instal.

Re: Who rebuilds vent windows?
You can order a rebuilt one from LMC or Classic Parts as well as a few others. You can also buy a kit to rebuild them yourself, its pretty easy to do.

Re: Who rebuilds vent windows?
I have rebuilt a couple of sets for myself (which does not mean I am volunteering to do any more ). They're not too bad, infact I'm sure there is a sticky on here about how to do it.
I would stay away from the aftermarket windows. I had a set installed in my truck and rebuilt my originals because the hinge rivot popped right out after opening and closing it about 5 times. Another friend of mine installed his and took them out because the chrome stopped about a 1/4 inch short of the top of the opening. Not saying there aren't some good re-pops but, personally, I haven't seen any yet.

Anyone know where you can buy the rubber that holds the glass into the wing frame? |

Re: Who rebuilds vent windows?
This one kind of surprises me, I thought for sure I was just missing something in my search causing nothing to come up.

Re: Who rebuilds vent windows?
I am with Sean on this. I would rather just pay someone else some good money to rebuild a set for me. The aftermarket ones "look" nice but I don't want to spend the $250-$300 to find out how they perform.
And yeah, I've read about what a pain they can be to rebuild, so I just don't care to put myself through all of the greif! Keith |

Re: Who rebuilds vent windows?
we used to rebuild them but its hard to make any money doing them. we have to have a minimum of $200.00 each 285.00 if chrome plated. it was costing us 35.00 each to have chrome plated. Unless you don't have the time it is something most people can handle themselves. Some people say its a pain but I hear people say that about a lot of things It just is labor intensive more than anything
