yes, I would say a 2/4,or a 3/5 would be a pretty level stance.....you may still have a little rake,but not too much.....69

Tim,
Great stance! What did you do for shocks on your truck? Did you have to buy new shorter length shocks? Thanks for the info! Chris H

How would i be able to tell whether or not the truck already has a spring drop. I'm pretty sure i have the stock springs in it for a 350. But w/ a BB the front squats a little more. but there is still only a 1' difference in ride height front to back. 31 front 32 back

I am having a similiar delimna. I want to drop my 71 but am not sure what I need to do it. I know I want to replace my spindles with the 2.5" lowered ones. Do I also need to drop my spring then or should I stay with a stock height spring. I plan on putting 17" wheels on the truck so that may play into this. So, does anyone have a picture of a truck with a 2.5" spindle drop and a 1" spring drop in the front? I guess the back will then be determined by what I end up doing on the front.
When I started this project I thought lowering would be the easy part! ------------------ 2001 GMC 2500HD Crew Cab Duramax, Allison, 4WD, Love it 1971 Chevrolet 1/2 ton 2WD Short/Step Side. In process of frame off restoration

http://www.geocities.com/a68rod/side.jpg My truck has a 2.5 inch spindle and a one inch spring. I put stock height springs on since and could not visibly tell much differece. I have a 5 inch spring in the back. I am using KYB gas shocks at all the corners and have 17x8 and 17x9.5. They are wrapped in Nitto 255/50 and 275/50. I personally want to go lower, but my dad and I don't see eye to eye on that. ------------------ http://www.geocities.com/a68rod
