Thumbs up Door Glass Removal ?????

How do you remove door glass? Do you have to remove the wing assembly 1st?? Then what??

Well its been a while, but Ill give it a shot....... If you take the rear tracking loose in the door(window down), you should be able to slide the glass to the rear to give a little more room to get the wing assy out. Once you worm the wing assy out, look for a slot on the roller track that one of the rollers will slip out of(you will have to play with the glass position untill both rollers are free of the track, then it should lift out the top. I think when we took my son's driver's window out to replace the little nylon rollers we took the wing vent, window and regulator out all together. There are either 2 of 3 screws on the front part of the door that hold the wing vent to the door. This has been several years ago so my memory is a little fuzzy. C'mon guys I know someone has done this more recently than me!

It really helps to have a copy of Haynes handy. I'd suggest you get one, its all there. Lots of things to do and its hard to describe, but I'll give it a shot.

Take off the window regulator handle, door latch handle and arm rest. Then remove the inner door panel. Then you have to take the vent window out. Remove the 3 screws holding the vent window assembly to the forward edge of the door. And down below on the inside you will find 2 screws holding the bottom of the vent window assembly. Roll the main window all the way down and then slide it towards the back of the door away from the vent window. You should be able to pull the vent window back a few inches (out of the slot), then raise it up and turn it 90 degrees. Then pull it up and out. After that you should be able to slide the main window out.

I can't stress enought the usefulness of having a Haynes or Chilton manual handy for doing these things. They have saved my bacon many many times.

I just done both of my doors.
southpa is correct however left out 1-small detail.

"you must remove or loosen the track closes to the latch it has only 3-screws 1-above the latch & 2 inside under the door panel at the bottom . Removing this track will make it easier to remove the vent window because the window will move towards the latch on the inside of the door"
NOTE: the Vent window must be removed becareful when turnining 90 degrees not to scratch the glass when putting back

Try and get the rubber/felt window scrapers out before you do it or you might have to buy new ones. You can work them out with a little screwdriver from inside underneath. I couldnt get my vent window out with out taking these out. Wound up buying new ones anyway.
