Dropping the bad habit....... with pics.

rolled the ol' girl out today after several months of hibernation. during that time, I put a "little" static drop on her. still has a good ride even with the amount of drop in the suspension.

front specs:
stock "a" arms with lower bump stop removed
Ground Force (Summit) 3" drop springs with 1/2 coil cut off
McGaughy's 2.5" drop coils
OEM sway bar with lowered front towers
3.5" travel

rear specs:
CPP 6" drop coils
Super Trac Bar adjustable panhard
2" custom drop blocks
C notch (soon)
3.5" travel

and since you like pics.....

2.5" with the c notch, and the axle sits 1" away from the frame without = 3.5" with notch in place.

I have always loved your truck, still love it. How much did it cost to get your bench covered in that awesome 70's fabric?

Love the stance! what size tire you running? I'd kinda like to cover my bench in that "Mexican blanket" look myself.

Re: Dropping the bad habit....... with pics.

Looks great!

It appears you have a very similar rim/tire combo compared to my truck. I've seen posts lately about 15" rims rubbing on the A arm when using 2.5" drop spindles. How's the clearance around the inside of the rim?

Thanks

Re: Dropping the bad habit....... with pics.

tires are 235/70/15's Uniroyal Tiger Paws on 15 x 7's steelies. the tires were the best bang for the money.

as far as removing the bump stop tower, I simply took a sawzall to it and they came off quick. it's amazing how much destruction you can do with a new blade and a sawzall......

I am getting Energy Suspension low profile urethane bump stops and installing them on the front, just in case we hit a speed bump at 60mph.

I have turnouts that go over the top of the axle and dump straight down behind the axle. no problem

nope. they are dealer options, but I wanted one. so after looking for months, I finally found a complete assembly that was in great condition.

Energy Suspensions have an 11/16" thick "hockey puck" style that will fit like a charm. already accounted for that, but it wll brin g the travel down that much.

I'm running stock shocks...... wonder how long those are going to last. guess those are next. but they still squelch the major hits.

Looks great. I just finished using a pic of your truck to photoshop what mine might look like when I'm done. Now I've gotta redo it with the drop.

Looks Great! That's the same drop I have planned for my highlander. I'm assuming your not running headers? That's whats holding me back at this time.
