my '77 has one in it, but the CB doesnt work. i'm not sure if i want to have it fixed when i do the resto, or just put a blockoff plate, and run a head unit and an aftermarket CB in a console.

I just looked over a brochure yesterday online that had a cb/am/fm radio as an option. CB's were all the rage in the 70's.

I wouldn't say it was rare. They were optional on all trucks. I have seen a few of them with it. The 4x4's have the more often though around here.

I have never seen a truck with one and I've owned a dozen or more 73-91 trucks and blazers. I own 4 right now.

I have CBs just dont use them. Except when wheeling. Easy communications. At work we use them all the time. The monitor Channel 9 here too. I think that is nationwide.

I haven't seen a factory CB radio in these trucks, either, but I have seen them in other GM products. In fact, my great-grandmother used to drive an '85 Chevy Caprice that came from the factory with a CB! What an odd option. The controls were built into the radio, and if I remember right, the mic was coiled up in the glovebox.
That car is sitting in the weeds at my grandma's house right now. My cousin was driving it hard one day and threw a rod in the 305. My aunt and uncle don't want to get rid of it, because they think it's some kind of special edition. I think they get this idea because it's a Chevy Caprice 'Limited'. I mean, come on! Who'd want a 4 door Caprice that's got a blown engine, worn out interior, and rusting body? Perhaps there's a Caprice forum out there with die-hard Caprice fans? Casey

Trans Am's could be had with a CB as well. I'm sure that was a Bandit thing.
