Dutch 1955 build

Hi my name is Sander and i am from the Netherlands
i have done a few frame off restorations on 50s and 60s cars , but this wil be the first custom build.

the Truck is from my uncle. Me and my dad and 2 cousin's will help with this project.
we bought the truck abouth a year ago and it was in pretty bad shape,
75% of the sheetmetal was shot. but the price was'nt bad + it has a dutch registration.

here some pictures of the progress made so far.....

cleaned up chassis

bunch op parts

ready to go for sandblasting

found a better core for the cab the other was far gone.....

back from sand blasting

time for new parts !
new sheet metal

cab repairs

new bed

and Santa was early this year !!

currently working on the chassis
made some X menber pieces but will first box the frame.
it will get a heidts superride front and a 4 link and a 9'' rear

well thats the story for now.
having fun ! Sander,

nice build, you must have been real good this year to have santa bring all those parts early
they must use salt on the roads over there too

The previous owner used it as a daily driver for abouth 10 years
then put it in his back yard for another 10 years or so
then the elements did the rest,
also a genius stuffed the doors with rockwool some day and that speed up the process a little too

Looking great! Thats not a 572 is it? Does that bare metal not rust over there? Down in the Gulf Coast where I am it would all have surface rust already.

Sander,
Hello sander,

Its a big challenge, but its possible..
I am now building it up for my dutch title
Everything will be original, exept the engine,
I am placing a V 8 out of a 56" pickup
When i get the title, I will start the frame of restouration..
You have a garage? I am looking for someone that can restore
My 51" cabin of the truck, and sandblasting
It need a new floor, and cab corners...
My e-mail is fbmkas@live.nl

Greetings Fer

Re: Dutch 1955 build

today i have finished the center piece of the x member

then i checked if the engine still would fit

stil need to finish up the ends of the X member where it goes onto the frame,
and still need to box the front and rear of the frame.
but will first put the cab back on to determine the final location of the engine.

also made a mockup of the four link rear suspension
