This is a good qestion. A good detailed answer has eluded me too. What gives on the early silver/charcoal color combo? Was it a Chevy VS GMC thing? Custom VS standard? Optional color choice? And what year was the cut-off?
I've owned Chevys 62 thru 66 and all were original factory fawn (some with off-white), but it seems here on this board I've seen at least a few 63's in silver. ?

Re: Just fawn???

as far as I know all 60-61 chev and gmc were the silver/charcoal dash
and 62-65 were fawn/fawn dash, and 66 fawn/brown dash

that is what shows on the 50+ trucks at the local yard

Re: Just fawn???

My 62 and 63 Chevrolet's were Fawn Beige interiors. I had the interior of the 63 changed to Silver as to brighten up the interior. NEVER SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT!
The 1963 Chevrolet Truck Data Book states that the interior color is Fawn Beige, and if you get the Custom Appearance Option RPO Z61 you would get White and Black as interior accent colors.

Re: Just fawn???

I always under the impression that the (chevy) 60-61 were silver and 62-66 were fawn.

Trying to be factory correct can be so hard!!!!
