Another Ebay Compass. Buying 101
GM NOS Buying 101
This compass is listed at $299. I just bought my NOS Compass of Ebay for $70 about two weeks ago. The point is not to bash this sale but to say do your research for that special part that you are looking for and be patient. You will find that part at a price you can afford. If this seller can get $300 that is ok with me because there are plenty of folks with deep pockets and they want what they want...now. The going rate/value to me would be for an NOS GM Compass would be $100-150. I sold one a while back for about $125 which to me was a fair price and that's about what I paid for it way back when. Then again the true value of a part is what one is willing to pay for it. I think half the fun of buying our truck parts is when we find these parts at bargain barn prices. I agree... it's taken me awhile but most of my parts were bought because it was a "good deal"... like buddy bucket seat covers for $99... 33" BFG tires with 1,000 miles on them for $150 (for all four!)

Well this compass just sold for $139.
Again... If it's something you want now than... that's not a bad price (a tab on the high side) but if you are patient you can fine better deals. http://www.ebay.com/itm/400432982742...S:3160&vxp=mtr

For me, it all averages out. Sometimes I get lucky and snag the great deals and sometimes I overpay like crazy. However, if I didn't overpaid from time to time, I don't think I would ever get some of the items I wanted.

Good point. There are some options/parts (ie GM 8 Track Player) that do not come up for sale that often and it may come down to a number of folks wanting the same thing. Again...valid point

I'm trying to get the clear part on mine off w/o screwing the whole pooch. It leaks along 3 seams and I need to reseal it. Then fill it back up with mineral oil. Its the 983335 type.
