umm got to love trans leaks
well got looking under the bottom of my truck today to see how hard it be to getmy exhaust done and found out my tranny leaking manual trans leaking from where the speedo gear goes into the transmission when i replaced my transmission i pulled the gear out of my old trans and stuck it in the new one was the an gasket or ring or something i was suppose to use to seal the gear? i'm runny 80 w90 gear oil if that matters

The cable screws on to a thing called the bullet. It has a seal in the middle for the gear to ride on and an o-ring around the outisde of the bullet. It could be either leaking.
Best bet is to buy a new bullet, which will come with both seals installed. Besides, over they years, the inside of the bullet usually gets worn sloppy by the gear spinning inside it. A new seal usually won't fix one that is worn. That's why, usually, replacement is the best option.
