Photo's of orginial 67 dash w/lighter
I'm trying to keep my 67' GMC era correct with factory accessories, Remember when I found her she was a real plain Jain found in a barn undriven since 1993, I already added numerous things, and she really coming along, but I want to see what a correct lighter and bezel might look like. Thanks

Re: Photo's of orginial 67 dash w/lighter
No pic, but the lighter will have the ridges like all of the knobs in the truck. (67 only) and no bezel for the lighter. Basically just a hole in the dash to hold the lighter housing. If i find a pic, i will post it up. Eric

Re: Photo's of orginial 67 dash w/lighter
Thanks Eric, that's a big help already, I had an idea what the lighter might look like, but just guessing on the bezel. It's funny that every 67' I've seen or owned never had a lighter. Thanks again.

I think your heater control would be black also for that truck. (if it matters to ya) That is a sweet truck...

Hey, you're good! The heater and the right hand mirror(which is silver) were later added, I found the paper work in the truck.

The lighter looks wrong, but the housing looks correct.

Re: Photo's of orginial 67 dash w/lighter
Yep, you are right-it sure looks like the lighter part is non-stock.
I was just trying to show the housing-good eye. I was surprised my truck had a lighter since the truck is so plain and doesn't even have a passenger side sun-visor. There are no holes-just dimples for drilling holes.

Re: Photo's of orginial 67 dash w/lighter
So is it correct to assume that '67's the lighter hole was just flush with the dash panel, not stepped in like the '68 and later? The PO had cut a hole and put a gauge where the lighter would go and I have been trying to figure out how to recreate the original step but if I could just make it flush, I'll go that way.

Re: Photo's of orginial 67 dash w/lighter
I'm curious about the doors. Did armrests not come on 67's, or am I just not able to see the holes?

Re: Photo's of orginial 67 dash w/lighter
I have an early 67 custom cab and mine doesnt have holes for armrests on either side but It does have both visors, as for the lighter, it is flush in the dash, I dont think My element is factory as its all chrome (60 style though) but my housing is and its flush it doesnt sit in like a 68 and up

Re: Photo's of orginial 67 dash w/lighter
My '67 had single visor, no lighter and a black faced heater control for the "Deluxe Heater" (I love that!).
What did you do with the original hub caps????!!!

Re: Photo's of orginial 67 dash w/lighter
Some 67's had one arm rest some two and some none at all. Out of all I have ever seen they had what I call 1964-66 style arm rest.

Here's the 100% original setup before I tore into everything. It's even a '67 like yours except it's a stepside.

Not a good pic, but as stated the 67 lighter has the knurled outer edge as the other knobs and no bezel

Here is a link to a 1967 only cigarette lighter on ebay. I picked up an NOS one for about $15 buck a month or so ago.

Re: Photo's of orginial 67 dash w/lighter
Hi All, I will post photo when I get home, I have the correct ign and lighter for 67. Yes, the dash is flat for 67 lighters, with the element part matchting the 67 only delux knobs.

Re: Photo's of orginial 67 dash w/lighter
It's a "built" CST, originally a no option 67 short step. I also like the 66 style armrests as pictured here

Re: Photo's of orginial 67 dash w/lighter
Sorry to jack this thread but I see something that looks strange! Has your steering column been moved forward? It looks like its not sticking out far enough, the shifter looks like it's right next to the gauge panel ?
