Parts lost in transit

So, I ordered some new outer floor extention peices so that I could actually get rolling on my cab again. While in Maine yesterday morning I got a delivery confirmation from a certain shipper (starts with F ends with edEx ). When I finally made it home...no parts were to be found. I verified that everything was correct on the address (which it was), then proceeded to call said shipper. The lady on the phone explained that it had been dropped off (no sig was required) at 9:58 am and that it was left at the front door. To which I replied "yeah, I can read the tracking information off your website, but it's not at MY front door". So, she proceeded to say that she will send a message to the facility to let them know that I'm claiming no receipt and that they'll get in touch with the driver and call me back within 48 hours.

I'm not sure that there is anything I can really do about it if no sig is required, but I'm gonna fight like hell to see that I get these parts!

Re: Parts lost in transit

Yes it's very nice to have good people for neighbors

The company I work for is looking into acquiring a company up there, so I was part of the due diligence team. Beautiful place but man that's a long travel day

Re: Parts lost in transit

I have had problems in the past with Fedex and DHL for this. The claims process is a pain to say the least. Parts and other things have arrived by "neighbor" when they were accidentally delivered to the wrong address. I did have to go searching for a pair of $220 sunglasses that I bought on line. They were delivered to the same address, but on a different street. I didn't get them right away either. One of the guys that I talked to at the same address, different street told me he didn't receive any packages from Fedex. About a week later, his wife dropped off my new sunglasses saying that they felt guilty for keeping them. In my book that makes them good neighbors. I dropped the claim against Fedex.

Re: Parts lost in transit

You know, it's funny..I was about to call them and see if they could give me the GPS coordinates from the drop-off. I know they have to capture that when the information is uploaded. At least that way I could narrow my search
