new weatherstrip still leaks
I had a "professional glass shop" install new weatherstrip around the windshield and rear glass. However, during rain storms the windshield leaks in the bottom corner and the rear glass seal leaks from both bottom corners. Has anyone else had this problem ? Did I get some poor weatherstrip or poor service from the shop?

I would try my best to take it back and have them do it again. The only big problem that I can think of is that the shop may not have properly prepared the surface, ie; rust or improper or no urithane sealant. Rust in the corners is a big problem in the 67 to 72 truck, especialy in the front lower corners of the windshield

Have you resealed the rain gutter on top of the truck? This is a bigger site of leaks than the weatherstriping. It will appear that it is coming from the weather stiriping but it is not. I would bet that is were your leak is coming from.

What is the proper material and procedure for resealing the rain gutters. There are some areas that are deteriorated but I never thought of it being a point of entry for water. I can however visually see the water seep between the glass and seal on the rear window. All thoughts on fixing this are appreciated.

I just got done fixing my own front window. I too had a shop come out and replace it first, and afterward every time it rained it would leak. I had them at the house 3 times and never fixed it. Every time they said they put sealer along the top of the glass, well guess what? They never did, I did it myself and nomore leaks, been about a month now. I would think this is what's wrong with yours also, These guy's around here in sc say they don't like using sealer, after I called and complained.

Same problem here, new rubber needs sealant, and a shop manual from 1970 confirms that sealant should be there, but many newer shops "forgot" how to do the oldies, and need coaching. I had to ride their ass the whole time to get them to do it, they tried every excuse, finnally threats worked.

These WS are leakers! Most shops have to reseal several times. One shop finally took it all back out-sealed the glass to the gasket-put it back & sealed body to the gasket. I just make sure the company/shop guarantees no leaks as long as their WS is in the vehicle. Good companies will.
