Need you opinions on a trade?

I've got a 96 vChevy Tahoe 2 Door 4X4 that I'm selling (or will trade) for a 67-72 C-10.
I've got a guy that wants to trade me straight across for my Tahoe.
I wanted to post some pictures here and ask YOU guys/gals if you think its a "good deal".
I'm looking for a Shortbed w/ AC/PS/AT/PB for starters and I believe this has it all.
My goal is to have it repainted/lowered and new wheels.
I don't know much about it yet except:
72 C-10 Fleetside Shortbed
23K miles on newer motor (looks like serpentine Belt).
The engine is from a 94 1500 Chevy Truck
Has a set of 20" aftermarkets wheels he'll throw in.
Pictures are attached.

Thoughts?
Roger

Re: Need you opinions on a trade?

the truck has already been lowered/seems to look like a pretty complete well done truck// with what the used modern trucks are going for now especially higher mileage ones being dirt cheap and about impossible to sell
i think its an excellent deal especially since its a GMC

Re: Need you opinions on a trade?

Thanks for the input!.
One of the 1st things I'd do is take off the side moluding and the Chrome Molding around the Tailgate, and grind the rivite and paint it.

Once again thanks for the input!

Re: Need you opinions on a trade?

Actually I think the KBB is a little LOWER than that.
Its got 193K on it and the transmission "Hesitates" when going into Reverse.
NEVER stranded me...mind you, but can take anywhere from 5-25 seconds BEFORE it engages!

Re: Need you opinions on a trade?

100% I would trade your Tahoe for that GMC......
Do it quickly before he changes his mind, your Tahoe will continue to decrease in value that GMC can only go up in value so it is a WIN WIN for you..

Re: Need you opinions on a trade?

I did a quick KBB search on your Tahoe. I assumed 120K miles, 5.7L, 4x4, Z71, and a bunch of power options and the private party value was between $2,500-2,800 on the high end...

Trade now before he changes his mind

Re: Need you opinions on a trade?

Yeah, I figured it probably had a lot more miles.

That GMC looks really nice in the pics. Sounds like your Tahoe may be worth 2K or less In that case, in my opinion you'll almost be doubling your money with the GMC. Seriously, do if before he changes his mind

Re: Need you opinions on a trade?

Well Gang, I'll keep you all updated on how it goes.

At this point, (since my initial post here), we've exchanged about 8 e-mails with the guy with the GMC.
He REALLY needs a Family Vehicle for his daughters/Wife ect.
He says as long as the Body's straight and I have the Pink/Smog Cert,
he's good to go!

This is REALLY exciting, as I thought after I sold my 67 C-10, that I'd NEVER have another "Hot Rod Truck" again.

But as my Wife pointed out, if I like the 20" Wheels that the Truck comes with, then I'll go for paint to go with the wheels.
If I DON'T like them, then I'll sell the wheels and use that money to help
re-do the Interior.

Oh did I tell you that the Wife is gong to GIVE ME A $1000.00 as a Birthday Gift (tomorrow) for the express purpose of using it ONLY for the Truck she says!

(No she does not have a Sister)!

Just for ****s-n-giggles, I've attached pictures of my beloved 67 C-10 just weeks before I sold her.

Roger

Re: Need you opinions on a trade?

Well wish me luck!
I'm leaving in about 15 minutes to trade fore this GMC.
I got more pictures and its "Rougher" than I'd like, but I have to remember I'm trading for Value and not quality.
The Highest I Blue Book I could get on my Tahoe is about $2800.00
His GMC is Blue Booking for about $6K.

Already churning ideas in my head for the interior.

;+)

Roger

I'll keep you posted!

Re: Need you opinions on a trade?

I've seen your ads on craigslist. I wanted to send you an email but my 70 SWB isn't a runner right now. The front clip is off and I'm about to pull the 307/Th350. Good luck with your search.

Re: Need you opinions on a trade?

So there WILL be questions, until I get Re-familarized with these type of Trucks again.
So one of the 1st questions I have is, is there anywhere online or anyone in these Forums, that if I provide the VIN #, they can tell me where my GMC was made and what it started life out as?

Roger

Re: Need you opinions on a trade?

You've had it for a whole 3 hours! Pics man!

I got:

GMC (I think that's what the "T" means)

2wd, V-8 gas engine, 1/2 ton, pickup cab with bed, 1972, Fremont, CA plant, ... not sure on the serial number... the 5 is throwing me off... there's no way that one plant built 405,512 trucks, is there?

Re: Need you opinions on a trade?

Everyone.
I just wanted to assure you that my site is Visur free.
I update my AVG Virus Detection Daily along with Spybot and run checks 2-3 times a week.
I had one other person say that his Macafee showed it was a "Dangerous site"., but I assure you, I've had this site (created the page myself) for over 10 years.
It just changes with the Vehicles I own!
