Gas gauge stuck past full

I am at a loss and can use some guidance.

Since I bought my 74 Blazer last year, the gas gauge has not worked. It stays past FULL whether the truck is on or off with no movement at all. I pulled the sending unit a few weeks ago and it tested bad, so I went ahead and got a new sending unit, hooked it all up and still have no change on the guage.

What are the next logical steps to get this working again?

Key on, disconnect sender wire and check for voltage. If you have voltage, ground the wire. Guage should show empty. If it dosen't guage is bad. If you have no voltage, check fuses and start looking for an open circut between the guage and the sender. Jim

Little stuff left to do is mount winch, wet sand & buff out and build belly pan\running boards. Body work takes lots and LOTS of beer!!!! God, Guts and Guns made America and God, Guts and Guns will preserve it! The worst thing you could do is get into my sights, but that don't matter, you'll never know it, cause you'll never hear the shotJim or Paladin whichever you choose.

check the grounds at the fuel sender on top of the tank...99% of the time that's the culprit
