Re: Good looking Resto-Mod (Ebay)

It will be interesting to see what a nice resto-mod like that will go for on ebay at this time/economy.

I'd guess mid 20's but like it says in the ad, it would cost 40-60 to build something like that with quality parts.

It's lovely, of course... but I don't think the resto-mod thing is a good idea unless you absolutely know you'll never have to sell it. I'd think the buyer pool for that truck is very, very limited.

Oh, I completely agree....Like I said...I don't see someone getting more than 20-25K for a truck even though they'd likely invest 40-60K to make one like that.

Re: Good looking Resto-Mod (Ebay)

Beautiful truck indeed. Starting out with a rust free two owner truck I feel it could be built for less than $40k.

Speaking of resto-mods... has your buddy ever sold his truck?

I was wondering the same thing. If you look in the 'key words' on the add they have Air Ride Technologies listed, but it didn't appear to me that the truck had air ride installed. IMO, he's running either the 4/6 or 5/7 static drop.

BTW Cole, did you end up getting that truck?

Re: Good looking Resto-Mod (Ebay)

Nate,

Not yet It got up to the mid 50's in ebay but he wants 85k......what is funny though I went to a car cruise on Friday night and these two older gentlemen came up to me telling me they seen my truck in ebay and they were wondering what my reserve was, I said my truck was not on ebay it iwas my friends truck not mine. then one of them told the other oh I see the difference "wheels are different and this one has a small block" I just laughed.

This has been listed on the local Craigslist for $32,000 for about the last year.

It is a nice truck.

Well I hope your buddy can get it for his truck, but with the economy, I'm not sure.

I really dont think it will fetch up that kind of money even though it does have the best of the best in there. The only vehicle that you will get all your money and then some is a 69 camaro hands down I dont know what it is about those cars but they bring top money all the time. I went to barret jackson in palm beack at the begining of the month and camaros where fetching all the money then there were some really nice c10s that went for cheap and they were very nice trucks. I took a bunch of picts I have to download them to post them I have to do it so I can share with everyone here.

Re: Good looking Resto-Mod (Ebay)

Sorry folks but that's not a resto mod,,,,,,it's a restored custom or a hot rod. Resto mod has an old looking body but completely late model drive train, suspension, brakes, frame, ect. ect.

I think what you are defining is a Pro-Touring style build. This is a resto-mod. It is a "restored" truck retaining the stock styling except for custom wheels and "modified" drive train. It's restored and modded...resto-mod.
