Can a truck bench be used as a burb second row seat?

I'm having a little trouble locating a 2nd row seat for the suburban I just bought. Does anyony know if a normal truck bench will fit?

Thanks in advance.

I found that a dodge dakota bench fits real nice. And its low, so the rear passengers arent in your face when looking through rearview mirror....

Love me a burb!!

Re: Can a truck bench be used as a burb second row seat?

Some of the second row factory Burb seats I have seen are about 3/4 width, to allow access to the rear, so a full factory front bench seat will not work in this regard, additionally, the full bench is too wide to fit between the wheel tubs. The factory style backs are covered.

As an option, you might see if a rear seat from a K5 Blazer would work.

I know this thread is long since dead but just fyi for anyone in the future a rear seat from a 85 Blazer will fit but is to wide for access to a third row. So its wider than the factory second row but narrow enough to fit between the wheel wells. I have one that is not yet bolted down but sitting in place. I can add a pic later if its valuable.

Re: Can a truck bench be used as a burb second row seat?

How many rows of seats did your Suburban have? Some have two seats, some have three. My burb came with only two seats and a rear cargo area. You can sometimes tell by the number of sliding windows. Factory three seaters had two sets of sliders, and two seaters like mine have one set of sliders and one set of fixed windows in the far back. So, my back seat (which is where the second seat would go on the three seat version) goes from wheel tub to wheel tub, with no access to the back. See pic.
These seats don't come up that often. Try this link, you may get lucky.http://www.stovebolt.com/ubbthreads/...483#Post763483
