frame identification??

Is there a way to figure out what year my frame is?? My 72 cab vin is for a 2 wheel drive and frame is 4 wheel and need to know what year it is so I know what to order for new chassis parts steerin etc.. any help is appreciated

If it is not bare and the brake setup is still intact, then if it has discs it is a 71 or 72 and parts wise it would not matter. If it is not a frame from our series trucks than I guess I don't know other than having someone look at it.

There is a number stamped into the frame but I believe that it is only part of the vin number without a date code. You would need the vin plate off of the cab to determine the date. I don't believe that you will run into a problem with parts as the frames were pretty much alike. The differences should be small for the 67-70.

The number on the top frame rail is an indication of the year... the first number is the year.... could be a Z also which would mean 1970... if its all drums it's 67-70.... the 67-69 would have closed knuckles. If there's no numbers its probably a 67 frame.
